About

The Humane Society Serving Logan County, Inc. was founded in the 1970’s out of the need to serve the stray animals of Logan County, Ohio.  In 2013, we began doing business as Top of Ohio Pet Shelter (TOPS), but we still have the same mission of serving the stray animals of Logan County!

The goals for Top of Ohio Pet Shelter are:

  1. to provide shelter for, and to facilitate adoption of, the homeless dogs and cats of Logan County;
  2. to educate the public about responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spaying and neutering; and
  3. to protect the animals of Logan County from both neglect and cruelty by investigating, citing, and assisting in the prosecution of cases of animal abuse.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donations are tax deductible.  Our Tax Identification Number is 34-1181214.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is a separate, private organization.  We are not affiliated with them and we do not receive any funding from them.
